Being so close to The Principality Stadium, we are expecting several road closures throughout the summer season as big acts take to the stage. In preparation for your arrival to our hotel, please look through all the major road closures and associated dates below.

Westgate Street Closures

As the main road directly outside The Parkgate Hotel, Westgate Street acts as a central link to The Principality Stadium. Due to the heavy foot traffic expected on gig days, the street will be closed during the following dates, times and gigs:

Monday 23rd June – Lana Del Rey
Gates Open: 5:00 PM

Gates Open: 4:00 PM
Road Closures: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Friday 11th & Saturday 12th July – Stereophonics
Gates Open: 5:00 PM
Road Closures: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Saturday 19th July – Kendrick Lamar
Gates Open: 5:00 PM
Road Closures: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Friday 1st August – Catfish and the Bottlemen
Gates Open: 5:00 PM
Road Closures: 3:00 PM – Midnight

Roads Closed on Event Dates

Besides Westgate Street itself, you can expect the following roads to also be closed to driver during all gigs listed above:

  • Kingsway (North Road to Duke Street)
  • Cowbridge Road East (Cathedral Road to Westgate Street)
  • Tudor Street (Clare Road to Wood Street) – Resident/trader access via Fitzhammon Embankment
  • Plantagenet Street & Beauchamp Street – Resident/trader access permitted
  • Saunders Road (from St Mary Street)
  • Customhouse Street – Access to private car parks permitted
  • Penarth Road (from Saunders Road to rear Central Train Station access)

Where To Park

The Parkgate Hotel is located in the centre of Cardiff city, therefore we are unable to offer on-site parking or valet parking services. This also means we are unable to provide a drop-off or pick-up station, and guests cannot unload or load their bags in front of the hotel, therefore please park before arriving at the hotel.

Thanks to its convenient location, there are a range of public transport options, as well as public car parks, within walking distance of the hotel.
